One man. One flag. A movement that is sweeping a nation.

Flagman is an intimate and observational documentary that follows a man known simply as "Flagman" — who began by quietly hanging Union Jack flags across Britain and has since built a growing team dedicated to the same cause.

I’m Ashley Ward, a documentary filmmaker based in the UK.

My films explore real people, complex realities and the stories that often sit beneath the surface. I’m interested in what makes people act, what brings them together, and the questions that don’t have easy answers.

Alongside building Loopy and teaching business and AI, filmmaking remains a way to listen closely and share a different perspective.
